Jelly Cleaver dedicates this song to the "Black lives matter" movement and donates the incoming money to a related good cause. I've not hesitated a second to support this project. Participating in it is a reward in itself - nevertheless I'm feeling additionally rewarded by having this brillant original composition in my collection.

about
I composed this piece shortly after the murder of George Floyd on May 25th 2020. May 25th is also my birthday, and due to my mixed African-American heritage (although based in London), I was profoundly moved by the rising Black Lives Matter Movement across the world. I wrote it as a eulogy to all victims of racism and police violence. I am releasing it on May 25th 2022 exclusively on Bandcamp and will donate all the money from people purchasing the track to 'All African Women's Group', a self-help group for women asylum seekers and refugees. I will later release the track as part of my upcoming EP 'Cosmovisions', about how humankind can live in harmony with nature and itself.
lyrics
Oh my people
I want to scream between my tears
For how much we have to bleed
To be free

Thanks to a lucky constellation of the planets, I was able to see this unique composer, cellist, and vocalist live in Leipzig. She's a Guatemalan in Mexico, and she was accompanied by her friend Héctor Tosta on guitar, a Venezolan living in Mexico, too. It was an awesome evening full of unusual avantgarde music, and talking to both after the gig revealed that they are very lovely people, too. Needless to add that this is the kind of artists that I support with purchases whenever I'm able to. Sven B. Schreiber (sbs)
